When You're Back by Abbi Glines

Oh Abbi Glines you goddess you.
You're probably wondering why I'm even bothering to write a review of this book and to be honest I don't feel like I really need to. You all are well aware how much I adore this woman and this series. But because I can't help myself I'm reviewing it anyway.
Just like in When I'm Gone Mase stole my heart. I said in my review of WIG that I wasn't sure about Mase because I didn't know him that well but then as usual with an Abbi Glines character, I fell in love with him. He's so wonderful and I will always be #TeamMase.

I'll be honest and tell you that I had two big issues with this book. One is that sometimes Reese got on my nerves. I love all of our main characters in every Rosemary Beach book but sometimes the girls question to much. I don't like how they are constantly doubting their relationships. I get that jealousy happens and when you have gone through what some of these girls have dealt with it's hard not to question, but it just gets to the point of frustrating at times.
My other big issue was Aida. Oh. God. She was horrible!! I mean if you've read the other books you know how much Nan sucks and you know I hate her. Aida and Nan should become best friends because they both are uber bitches and I want to "could've hate a V8" smack them right in the face. Ugh.

The book starts off with Reese talking about how she met her father and brother and while she grew to care for them she couldn't be away from Mase so she decided to surprise him and move in with him early. When she gets to Mase she meets his obsessively needy cousin Aida - whom I previously mentioned. Aida instantly seems to have issues with Reese which drove me nuts because I already have had to deal with Nan.
One night the three of them attend a party where Reese meets Captain aka River aka Blair's brother and he seems to take a liking to Reese.
Basically the book is full of angst, drama and jealousy.
I of course recommend this book because it's awesome just like every other Abbi Glines book.

The Extraordinary Means Tag

I saw Heather from Bookables on YouTube do this tag and it looked fun so I'm going to do it too.
Watch Heather's video by clicking

1. I would give up the internet for a month for a signed first edition of this book:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I know I mention this book all of the time but I can't express how deeply my love for this book is.

2. I would give up pizza for a year if it meant I could sit next to this author on a long plane ride:
Oh gosh this is so hard!! There are so many authors that I would love to be able to sit next to and chat with but at the same time I think I'd fan girl and make myself look like a fool. I think that Sophie Kinsella and I would get along really well. I was a BETA reader for Sarah Billington a couple years ago and she's wonderful so I also would love to sit next to her. And of course Abbi Glines, John Green and Jay Crownover would be awesome!!

3. I would sit through a thousand hours of commercials if it would ensure that Hollywood made this book into a movie:
I'm sorry but there isn't any book that I want made into a movie that badly. You have no idea how much I hate commercials!!

4. I would never read a new book again if it meant I could live inside this book:
While I love all of my books and there are plenty of characters that I wish were real, there are no places that I'd want to live that bad. Reading is the best because you get to travel anywhere and meet new people, if I had to give up reading then I'd give up my adventure and I'm not willing to do that.

5. I would let my google search history be made public if it meant I could be best friends with this author:
This is just as hard as the second question because I just don't know. I think I'm going to go with Sarah Billington though because we get along well and she seems like the kind of person I'd like to hang out with.

6. I would donate everything I own to goodwill if it meant I could date this book character in real life:
Oh heck to the no. I'm not donating everything I own!! I love my stuff! I love my books and my cds and my clothes. This question gives me anxiety. I love my book boyfriends but I'm not donating all my stuff for them.

Reason To Breathe by Rebecca Donovan

You guys know that I like to be honest with you and that's for many reasons. Two biggest reasons being -
1. I don't like liars
2. I love you guys and want you to trust me

So I have to be honest when I saw I did not like this book in the beginning. It took me about 2 weeks - I believe - to finish this book. I don't know if you're the same way but when it takes me longer than a couple days to read a book it usually means I'm not into it.
I was reading this book every night before bed and it'd put me to sleep and during the day I never felt like reading it.

Once I got about 70% in that's when I started to enjoy it a bit more and found myself wanting to read it.

Basically the book is about a girl named Emma. Emma's dad died and her mother is an alcoholic so she lives with her aunt and uncle. Unfortunatly her aunt is a total nut job and beats Emma for no reason sometimes. Emma doesn't want to turn her aunt in because she doesn't want her two small cousins to be without a mother.

Throughout the book we see all the hell Emma's aunt puts her through but we also get to see good things. Emma has a best friend named Sarah who is wonderful and the best friend she could possibly have. She also has Evan whom I love. There is some serious tension between the two and the whole book you're rooting for them to get together.

When I read the synopsis I thought it sounded intriguing and I couldn't wait to start it. My problem was that some parts were hard for me to believe and some was juvenile. Emma is only like 17 so I get that she's not uber mature but she makes a big deal about things like kissing. What I mean is she puts it on the same level as sex and that's a bit of a stretch.

With all of my trash talking aside I will say that it did pick up and then end made me want to read the second book - which I'm currently reading in fact.

If you're in the mood for a darker contemporary then you might like this.

The Summer Reader Book Tag

Ahh how I love watching book tags on YouTube.
As I was spending my time watching many videos I stumbled across this one and decided, "Hey that looks fun, I'm going to do it."
If you want to watch the original video then click
HERE

Lemonade: pick a book that started off bitter but got better.
I finished Reason To Breathe recently and really did not like it in the beginning but it got a lot better. I even started the second book a few hours later :)

Golden Sun: pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.
Forgive My Fins made me smile a lot when I first read it. I'd like to read it again because I want to see if it still has the same affect.

Tropical Flowers: pick a book set in a foreign country.
Well one of the books in The Vampire Academy takes place in Russia - at least for a lot of it so I'm picking that.

Tree Shade: pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character was first introduced.
Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments INSTANTLY came into my mind with this.

Beach Sand: pick a book that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.
It's not really that the plot didn't develop but I didn't think the plot was great in Isla & The Happily Ever After.

Green Grass: pick a character(s) that were full of life, making you smile.
My dear sweet Augustus Waters.

Watermelon: pick a book that had some juicy secrets.
Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines had some secrets, so did Rule by Jay Crownover.

Sun Hat: pick a book that had a vast, big universe/setting.
I honestly have no answer for this one. I suck. I apologize.

BBQ: pick a book in which a character was portrayed as a hunk.
A hunk hehe um Liam from Forever My Girl.

The Leonardo DiCaprio Book Tag

When I saw this video on YouTube and HAD TO DO IT!!
My love for Leo in the late 90's was borderline obsessive so it's only fitting to do this tag.
If you'd like to watch the original video click
HERE
I hope you enjoy!!

1. Growing Pains. - A book you read before it got famous/hyped up/popular.
The first book that comes to mind is Twilight because I remember reading this before it got craaaazy. However it had been out a while and people loved it so I'm also going to go with Anna & The French Kiss. I read that book when it first came out, before there were any reviews on it. I remember thinking that people would love it and then hot damn they did. :)

2. Tobey Maguire. - Your favorite book best friends.
Charlie, Sam and Patrick from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Oh Patrick, how I love you so.
I also think that Augustus and Isaac are awesome best friends.

3. Kate Winslet. - Your OTP.
There are so many it's almost silly but my OG OTP is Edward and Bella.

4. Titanic. - A book that made you cry or emotionally upset if you don't cry ;)
I cried like a tiny baby when I read The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I was an emotional wreck after I finished it.
You thought I was going to say TFIOS didn't you? Well ha. Got'cha.

5. Martin Scorsese. - An author you will always buy their books no matter what.
Abbi Glines of course.

6. VS Models. - A genre you will always go back to.
YA Contemporary will always be one of my favorites.

7. Happy Meme Leo. - A character that makes you smile.
I so badly want to say Augustus Waters but I know you want something different...I read Reason To Breathe recently and Evan makes me smile a lot.

8. Every Leo character. - Your favorite complexed characters.
Oh geez um...The Maddox boys are somewhat complex...Harrison from My Unexpected Forever...Katniss of course. Is that enough?

9. Leonardo NoOSCARo - A book that doesn't get the recognition is deserves!
I don't feel that Jay Crownover gets enough love. I mean she's a NYT Bestseller now...and she has Crownovers Crowd on Facebook which basically is full of people who talk about how wonderful she is on a daily basis BUT STILL...she needs more love people.

Top Ten Books I'd Love To See as a Movie or T.V. Show

I feel as if I have done this before but I'm not 100% sure. Normally I would look to see if I have in fact done this but I've decided not to look until after I finish because I want to see if I choose the same books - if I haven't done this before then obviously I have not chosen the same.

10. The Beaumont series by Heidi McLaughlin
It's no secret that I'm in love with these books so it should be no secret that I want them turned into a television show that I can enjoy week after week. :)

9. Anna & The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I would love to see Anna & Etienne up on the big screen. I think this would be the perfect summer movie and I want to make it happen.

8. The Kiss Off by Sarah Billington
It's been a while since I've mentioned this book but if you remember what I said before you know I loved it. The whole time I read it I felt like I was watching a movie in my head so of course I'd love to see this on film!!

7. Between The Lines series by Tammara Webber
Sticking with books I haven't mentioned in a while I wanted to throw in this series because it would make a fantastic television show!! You've got angst, smokin' hot boys, relatable girls - shoot you've got the new teen drama on the CW!!

6. Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead
This would make an excellent television series because there is so much that happens!! I personally did NOT like the Vampire Academy movie so I would hope that they'd take a different route and hire new people for the Bloodlines series.

5. Maybe, Someday by Colleen Hoover
I'm aware that Ugly Love is being turned into a movie and trust me I'm thrilled, however Maybe, Someday is my favorite and I would absolutely love to see this as a movie. I'm going to sit here patiently and cross my fingers until this happens.

4. Faking It by Cora Carmack
I need this to be a movie. And I need it now.

3. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
I feel as if this is in talks to become a movie but I'm not sure. In case it's not IT SHOULD BE!! Uh, to see Travis Maddox in theaters...life would be so grand.

2. The Marked Men series by Jay Crownover
I would absolutely love to see the Marked Men be a t.v. series!! I would be so addicted it would be ridiculous. And since Grey's Anatomy shattered my heart and I refuse to watch it now, I need a new show. This would be the perfect remedy for my broken heart.

1. The Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines
I also want this series to be a television show because there are so many different characters and stories that one movie (even if it were for each book) just wouldn't be enough.
