Reflected In You by Sylvia Day

Last week I told you all my thoughts on Bared To You which is the first book in the Crossfire series. Now when I began this series I thought it was only three books. Saturday I was with my son and we decided to go into the bookstore - well I decided, he was just happy because there were toys. While in there I saw that there are in fact 5 books in total. 5. Not 3. This made me a very happy reader because I am currently finishing up book 3. I thought I was going to have to wait years to see if she'd write another book and hot damn she'd written two. It was a beautiful moment. :P
Alright so lets get into the review. If you haven't read the first book then stop reading!!
I mean it.
Stop.
I'm not playing around.
Totally using my mom voice right now.
Alright, I've given you fair warning.
...
Last chance.
Okay, so in this book we see more of Eva and Gideons relationship.
That's all I'm telling you.
Hehe, not really.
At the end of the first book our couple were having some issues in the jealousy department and in the "Gideon won't tell any secrets to save his life" department.
In this installment there is still jealousy and Gideon still won't fill us in on many secrets.
I have to say though, these two sizzle off the page. Seriously guys, Sylvia Day knows how to write some steamy love.
I liked that we got to look deeper into the pasts of these characters, I loved Eva's dad and his visit, I loved the tension Brett caused, I still am totally infatuated with Cary. I really really liked it. The ONLY thing that got on my nerves a tid bit was Eva's jealousy. She's like off the charts sometimes. I get it, I get jealous too. And Gideon is a hunky man and she doesn't want to share. But sometimes I think she's a little immature about things and that bothers me. One of my least favorite things in the world is miscommunication and I think that this happens a lot between our couple.
All in all though I liked Reflected In You and I picked the 3rd book up right away...I'm also expecting the 4th book in the mail by tomorrow :)

Bared To You by Sylvia Day

Way back in the day - and by that I mean like 4 years ago - I read the Fifty Shades of Grey series. A couple years ago I came across this series and people were saying if you liked Fifty Shades you'd like this. Well in the store these books are like $15 a piece so I never purchased them. Thanks to good old fashioned library book sales I scored all three books last year for $1!! I win.
I put them away and kind of forgot about them until a couple of months ago. I had seen Bared To You in the store and was like oh hey I have those books, I should read them. Unfortunately I forgot where I put them. Hehe. After much digging I found the 2nd and 3rd. Boo. Then miraculously I found the 1st book the other day and decided to start reading it. I finished it in just a couple days and really really liked it.
Our couple is Gideon and Eva who are absolutely crazy for each other. From the second the two met they've been hooked. Gideon is a multi billionaire handsome fella and Eva is from money and gorgeous. She has recently moved to New York City with her best friend Cary - who's a male model and I love him. She is determined to work and make her own money and the office she works in is in the same building as Gideon. Lucky girl. Once the two of them start talking Gideon quite bluntly points out that he wants her - and I mean wants her.
She's all oh no sir you don't talk to me like that but duh they end up getting together.
Gideon has secrets from a tortured past and Eva has had her own trauma. The two of them together equals a beautiful disaster.
I do see why people compared this to Fifty Shades because of the hot guy who's rich, blunt, obsessive and basically a sex addict verging on the uber kinky side. But I feel like that's where the similarities end. The only thing Ana and Eva have in common is the fact that they're jealous and can be insecure with the one they love. But Eva is more experienced and confident where Ana isn't.
I did like the chemistry between the two a lot because they're...hot. But I felt sometimes that they needed to take a chill.
With that being said I started reading the second one yesterday because I have to know the rest of their story. I'm about half way through so I'm hoping to have it finished soon and have a review up next week.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a steamy romance.

The Secret Life of A Book Blogger Tag

I saw this tag over on Spines & Covers and loved it. Any tag that talks about the book blogging community is fun for me. If you want to check out their tag click HERE

1. How long have you been a blogger?
My first post was on February 19, 2013 - and yes I did just go look. So I've been a book blogger for over 4 years now and that is crazy to me.

2. At what point do you think you'll stop blogging?
I don't know if I'll ever stop blogging. It has become such a constant in my life and I always look forward to writing my posts.

3. What is the best thing about blogging?
Everything. I love the people I've met, I love the books that I've read that I might not have without bloggers and vloggers. It's just a wonderful community and I'm so grateful to be a part of it.

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?
Um, I don't know if there is a "worst thing". I mean it sucks when I get in reading slumps because then I don't post any reviews. The whole reason I started A Book Lovers Playlist was to write reviews and create playlists. So yeah it kinda stinks when I have none to write BUT that's not my blogs fault.

5. How long does it take to make/find pictures to use?
It depends, sometimes it's like 10 seconds, sometimes it's a lot longer.

6. What do you wear when you write blog posts?
Sometimes I like to write my posts when my son is sleeping at night so if that's the case then I'm in pajamas. Other times I write them when he's napping so then I'm - usually - dressed for the day.

7. How long does it take to prepare?
I hate to say this again but...it depends. There have been times when I've read a lot so I pre-write reviews or tags if I see any that I like. I have sat down before though with notes and things and it takes me a while. Not really preparing but the act of actually putting it all together takes a long time.

8. How do you feel about the book blogger community?
I love every one of them.

9. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?
Keep it up. Don't let lack of pageviews, comments, or followers get you down and make you quit doing something you love. It's a fun world to be a part of and if you keep up with it you'll really love it.

The Literary Dinner Party Tag

1. One character who can cook/likes to cook
Anastasia can cook pretty well in Fifty Shades so we'll go with her.

2. One character who has money to fund the party
Hmm...well Christian Grey has a lot of money...not sure how he'd feel about funding a party and Ana cooking though.

3. One character who might cause a scene
Nan from the Rosemary Beach series. She's a pain in the tush more often than not.

4. One character who is funny/amusing
Patrick from Perks of Being a Wallflower is super funny and I think he'd make an excellent dinner guest.

5. One character who is super social/popular
Brett from Until It Fades is a professional hockey player so he's my perfect choice.

6. One villain
I always liked Sebastian from the Mortal Instruments. He'd make things interesting I think.

7. One couple - doesn't have to be romantic
Rule and Shaw. I <3 them.

8. One hero/heroine
Katniss is a hero, lets go with her.

9. One underappreciated character
I don't feel like Eddie from the Vampire Academy/Bloodlines series gets enough love. He does in the book, I just don't think enough people love on him who read the books.

10. One character of your own choosing
Catherine from Until It Fades because I love her and because Brett is coming, so she should be there too.

Because of Lila by Abbi Glines Is Now Available!!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Prim, proper, classic good girl, and her least favorite label - icy.

Lila Kate Carter has heard them all. The last one, being the newest. She is not icy. She just doesn’t care for Cruz Kerrington and his spoiled, selfish, careless ways. That doesn’t make her icy, that makes him a jerk!

Tired of being labeled and doing what is expected of her, Lila Kate leaves Rosemary Beach, Florida ready for an adventure. Wanting to recreate herself, find a new path, and become something more.

Eli Hardy is tired of women who always act the same, do the same thing and expect the same thing. He's ready to swear off women until he can get the rest of his life together.

Two weeks into his no-women-rule he meets Lila. She’s so damn sweet and polite. Like she walked right out of an etiquette book. But he’d already been drunk before she walked in so there was a good chance she might not be as stunning and perfect as he thinks. He’s just too drunk to worry about that.

The next morning, he swears he can still smell her on his skin. He just can’t remember why or what happened after that third dance.

Their worlds are about to collide, and so are the secrets and lies.

BUY BECAUSE OF LILA ON:

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Abbi Glines is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, Field Party and Existence series. She never cooks unless baking during the Christmas holiday counts. She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. Don’t judge.

You can connect with Abbi online in several different ways. She uses social media to procrastinate.
