Remember When by T. Torrest

So here's the story...
The other day I was scrolling through the many books that Netgalley offers and ran across this gem. The cover looked pretty summery and light which was exactly what I was looking for.
Lately I've been reading some darker books so a light chick lit is exactly what the doctor ordered.
I'm so glad that I got approved for this book because I thought it was really fun.
Our female protagonist is named Layla and can I just say that I thought she was awesome? At first - I'm not going to lie - I wasn't digging her to much. She seemed a little shy and offish in the begining. Oh boy was I wrong. Layla is a really strong girl with a funny attitude and great personality.
Enter Trip our resident heart throb.
Trip is new to school but being new doesn't stop him from talking to Layla. As soon as the two first interact I was hooked. I knew I wanted them together and I knew I wanted their relationship to last.
The two start off as friends- even though they clearly have feelings for each other. Mixed signals happen...as usual. Urgh. The more the two spend time together though the more they realize they care for each other.
I hope i'm not giving you a spoiler here but eventually the two get together. I know what you're thinking, "I would hope they get together other wise that book sucks!" My sentiments exactly which is why I don't care if I spoiled you.
As I said Layla is a great character and I loved Trip. I loved getting to know them better and really enjoyed watching their relationship develop.
Remember When also takes place in the 1990's so duh of course I liked it. :)
If you're looking for a sweet chick lit book then I'd definitely recommend you pick this one up!

Top Ten Books On My Fall To-Be-Read list

10. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I recently ordered this book from my library so I plan on reading it soon. EVERYONE on BookTube raves about this book so I feel like it's time I jump on the bandwagon and see what all the hype is about.

9. Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I really need to read this book because I've read the first three and really enjoy the series. I'll be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the third book but it really picked up at the end and I need to know what happens.

8. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I keep seeing things about the movie coming out and it's making me more eager to read the book. I've had it for over a year so maybe if I put it on this list I'll actually read it. :)

7. Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken
I've been putting this book off for a while--don't ask me why--but I feel like it's time I pick it up.

6. Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover
I read Slammed quite a few months back and fell in love with Colleen Hoover. I've been meaning to carry on with the series but haven't had the chance until now.

5. The Certainty of Violet & Luke by Jessica Sorenson
I've read the first two books about Violet and Luke and I really want to know what happens. Honestly I don't feel like these books needed to be dragged on into more than one or two books but oh well.

4. Isla & The Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

I'm actually reading this one right now but it was on my fall list so I'm counting it and you can't stop me :P

3. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This book doesn't come out until November...which technically isn't fall but can I still count it? Please? I mean it's the beginning of November which is almost October still so that works. Right?

2. Rowdy by Jay Crownover
I'm pretty sure you all know by now that I am a massive fan of the Marked Men series by my beloved Jay Crownover. Rowdy has been a favorite of mine since the begining and I can't wait to hear his story!

1. Predestined by Abbi Glines
I read Existence last week and plan on reading Predestined ASAP! Abbi Glines can't write a bad book so if you haven't checked her out DO IT!

Would You Rather Tag (Book Edition)

1. Read only trilogies or stand-alones?
Oh dear I'm only on question one and this has already become difficult...
See now they both have there perks so it's so hard! If I read trilogies I get more of the characters...but sometimes I don't want more so a stand-alone is good. I may be to indecisive for a tag like this.

2. Read only female or male authors?
I primarily read female authors but I do not discriminate based on gender thank you very much.

3. Shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?
I used to shop on the Barnes & Noble website a lot when I had the trial membership but since I don't have it anymore I don't really buy much from there. I also don't tend to buy to much at the actual store because I hate paying full price for books. Now that you've gotten all of that I'll finally answer by saying I prefer Amazon.

4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?
I would prefer movies over t.v. shows I think. Sometimes t.v. shows just drag things on and that gets annoying.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?
Oh my! Reading 5 pages a day seems like a waste and exceptionally difficult--especially if the book is good. But 5 books a week? Hot damn that's a lot. I guess I'd shoot for 5 books a week.

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?
Well since I already review books and the only thing that would make it better is getting paid for it then I guess professional reviewer. However I'd love to be able to write my own stories. Oh look, there I go again being indecisive.

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?
Hands down read my 20 favorite books. I would hate never being able to read my favorites again. Plus 20 is a lot so it wouldn't be to repetitive.

8. Be a librarian or book seller?
Ooooh I would love to have my own book store so book seller it is.

9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?
Alright now this is just to much. These are not as easy to answer as I thought they'd be! I suppose read my favorite genre since...well...since it's my favorite.

10. Only read physical books or eBooks?
Ugh. This tag is giving me anxiety. Um. I guess I'll go with eBooks ONLY because it's easier to carry around my Kindle than 50 + books. Also I've found that I read faster on my kindle.

Taylor Swift Book Tag

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together: Pick a book (or book series) that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
Ha hands down the Divergent series. I loved Divergent, enjoyed Insurgent, and wanted to burn Allegiant.

2. Red: Pick a book with a RED cover.
I have the movie edition of Warm Bodies and that's primarily red, does that count?

3. The Best Day: Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.
Are You There God, It's Me Margaret by Judy Blume. It was the first book I remember loving.

4. Love Story: Pick a book with forbidden love.
Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins. I read this book a couple years ago and really liked it. Gist is girl falls in love with Amish boy and that's a no no when you yourself aren't amish.

5. I Knew You Were Trouble: Pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.
Aro in Twilight wasn't the worst bad guy but nonetheless was a bad guy and I still liked him. I couldn't help myself I just thought he was cool.

6. Innocent: (written b/c of Kanye West!) Pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.
The end of Allegiant by Veronica Roth was ruined for me. Thanks BookTuber for not saying beforehand that you were going to do spoilers. Curse you spoiler reviews.

7. Everything has Changed: Pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

8. You Belong With Me: Pick your most anticipated book release.
Rowdy by Jay Crownover! Rowdy is one of my favorite boys for the Marked Men and I cannot wait to hear his story.

9. Forever and Always: Pick your favourite book couple.
Augustus & Hazel forever.

10. Come Back, Be Here: Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.
I would have to really really trust and love you to let you borrow The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I don't think I'd like it to be away from me.

Existence by Abbi Glines

Alright this is just getting silly--Abbi Glines seriously can't write a bad book.
The other day I got all excited about books - which hasn't happened in a while...boo - so I had to make my way over to the library.
As I perused the shelves I saw a pretty cool cover
<--- and thought daaaang look at them eyes. Then I noticed that it said "Abbi Glines" under the title.
I couldn't believe my eyes. An Abbi Glines book that I hadn't heard of? Um can I have that like yesterday please?
I started reading it the other day and literally just finished it.
I -stupidly- went into it not sure if I'd like it because it's paranormal and I had only ever read contemporary romance/new adult by Abbi Glines.
Why do I question her? I mean seriously.
This book was absolutely, incredibly, fantastic!
Our main character is a girl named Pagan who has the ability to see souls that wander the earth. One day she see's a soul who's different than any other she's encountered- he can talk to her.
As soon as the soul talks to her she begins to question him on why he can talk to her when no other soul can. The soul of course can't answer her questions.
One day during school Pagan leaves school upset (the boy she tutors/likes was a butthead) and the soul begs her not to leave. She doesn't listen and as she's pulling out she's involved in a car accident. Later she wakes up in a hospital bed and finds out that the only reason she's alive is because she was thrown from the car. Pagan finds this odd because she always wears her seatbelt. Had someone taken her from the car and saved her? Bum bum bum!
After her accident the soul starts to hang around more and Pagan begins to fall in love with him.
This is unfortunate because 1. He's a soul and 2. She has a boyfriend (the butthead I mentioned previously)
Soooo much happens that I can't tell you because...well...because that would be rude of me to ruin the book for you.
This book reminded me a lot of Twilight in the way that Pagan had this intense attraction to the soul (we later find out his name is Dank) just like Bella adored Edward. However Pagan wasn't as silly or clumsy as book Bella.
If you aren't a fan of Twilight (Is that even possible?) don't let that throw you because it isn't a copy cat story. I just thought there were similarities.
I thought Pagan was a really great character and I absolutely LOVE Dank. Can you spell dreamy? I can, D-A-N-K.
I also really liked Miranda and Wyatt who were Pagans two best friends. I liked her boyfriend Leif too because he was super sweet (turns out he wasn't such a butthead).
If you are a fan of Abbi Glines, a fan of paranormal or a fan of good books then you need to get this book asap. You're welcome.

This book was so good and I haven't heard anything about from friends, BookTube or Goodreads.
My Review of Ruin

9. He's Come Undone by Theresa Weir

8. That Time I Joined The Circus by J.J. Howard
I read this book when I first starting blogging and even got to interview the author. Not only is the book amazing but so is the author. If you haven't picked up this book yet then there is something wrong with you. At least check it out on Goodreads or read my review HERE

7. Cora Carmack
She is the first New Adult author that I ever read and I adore her. Her books are witty, sexy and addictive. I know she's a bestselling author but she doesn't get any attention on BookTube and that bothers me.

6. The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorenson
I read this book in the beginning of the year and completely devoured it. It's soooo good guys. So. Good. You can read my review HERE to see how much I loved it.

5. The Beaumont Series

3. Between The Lines series by Tammara Webber
I've heard people talk about Easy a lot however I'm completely in love with the Between The Lines series and I've never heard anyone talk about it. It's an addicting series and I definitely think you should read it if you're a fan of contemporary.

One More Chance by Abbi Glines

First let me begin this review by telling you how much I effing love Abbi Glines. Oh, you already knew that? I talk about her all the time? You know she's the best too?
Well if you already know all that then lets get on with what I thought of this book.
So. Freaking. Good.
Ah.
Abbi Glines I love you so much. To quote the lovely Bette Midler, "Did you ever know that you're my hero? You're everything I wish I could be." There's more to the song of course but I don't want to make things weird...er.
As I've said an insane number of times, I LOVE the Rosemary Beach series. I was stoked when Take A Chance came out because I really wanted to read about Harlow and Grant. Well that book was simply wonderful so of course I was excited for One More Chance. Then I was asked if I wanted a review copy. Um do I want an ARC of One More Chance? Seriously? Is it appropriate to say hell yes!
As soon as I got my greedy little hands on this book I devoured it. This book guys. Wow. Let me start by saying it sent me on a freaking rollercoaster of emotions, but in the best possible way.
If you haven't read Take A Chance yet then STOP READING!
Seriously stop.
I'm not going to tell you again. This will spoil the book for you.
Alright if you're continuing on then I'm hoping you've read the book and your not reading on because you want me to ruin everything for you. Don't make me ruin this!

One More Chance picks up pretty much where Take A Chance left off. Harlow has left Rosemary Beach to go stay with her brother and has basically left Grant heartbroken.
At the end of TAC Grant finds out that Harlow has a heart condition and he spazzes. It's his worst fear come true and he doesn't react well.
In the beginning of OMC we see that Grant has been trying to contact Harlow but she won't answer his phone calls.
Why?
Because she's pregnant and could die if she has the baby. She knows that if Grant finds out then he'll want her to abort the baby and that's not something she's capable of doing.
Eventually Rush ends up telling Grant where Harlow is and he goes to get her. When the two reunite there's some underlying tension because of the baby.
Grant doesn't want to lose Harlow and Harlow won't give up on their baby.
The two go back to Rosemary Beach together and after some time they both fall in love with their unborn child.
I can't tell you much more without giving stuff away but I can say that you need to pick this up. Like yesterday.

Book Boyfriend Tag

1. Most romantic boyfriend
I think Harrison from The Beaumont series by Heidi McLaughlin is awfully romantic. Plus he's so dreamy.

2. Dark and moody bad boy with a good side
Rule Archer from the book Rule by Jay Crownover. Rule is pretty moody sometimes but he is such a good guy deep down. I've had a crush on him since I opened the book!

3. Paranormal boyfriend
Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout!! Ooh boy.

4. Boyfriend you want to tame
See now I don't really like this question because I don't want to "tame" anyone. BUT if I have to choose then I guess Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. He does settle down some after meeting Abby so I guess that's becoming tame.

5. Boy you friend zoned
Peeta from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. When The Hunger Games first got popular and everyone was all oooh Team Peeta I was like uh hello did you read the book? Gale is where it's at. I don't really care to much for Peeta at all but I wouldn't mind being friends with him.

6. Your soul mate
Augustus Waters.

7. Boyfriend you want to elope with
I would elope with Trenton Maddox from Beautiful Oblivion. He's a keeper.

8. Boyfriend you'd venture anywhere with
I'd like to travel with Etienne St. Clair from Anna & The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. He's really funny and just seems like a cool guy to be around.

9. Boyfriend you'd want to be stranded on a desert island with
I'd be cool be stranded with Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth. Four is tough so I don't think I'd get to scared. Plus he's easy on the eyes.

10. Most badass boyfriend
Can I use the same guy twice? I'm totally going to because Rule is a complete badass.
